Flower peoples!

This week’s episode of the podcast #forflorists, I’m sharing my top 10 tips for those of you looking to make your first hire.
Also, one of my favourite learnings is putting up an application form on our website with some juicy questions on it.
I love love love this approach and so wish we had started it earlier. Even if you don’t think you’re anywhere near hiring someone yet, I’d still suggest you put up a page like this on your website and ask a few pointed questions – that way you can easily filter out the winners from the duds without having to do any work. Hello! That is my idea of a good idea!
As well, one of the best questions you can consider is whether a piece of technology or software can help you – paying $30-$40 per month might for a subscription be a better option than paying $30 an hour for a human’s assistance.
One of the best investments we’ve made in our business is Tave – it’s a studio management system that helps us coordinate all our events and keeps track of where we’re up to with every enquiry, booking and completed project. Here’s the link to a free 60 day trial. It’s absolutely worth the monthly subscription price!
And, even if you’re not sure about when you want to hire another pair of hands, there are some super useful tips in this episode to get you set up for making your first hire – 6, 12, or even 18 months from now.
Sending you so much joy and love today!
